For the 2025 Presidents’ Day promotional period Nationwide Marketing Group saw major wins across the independent channel, with two key components driving the impact.

Single Piece Rebate Offering

NMG’s recently released Holiday Retail Report powered by PriMetrix, showed that member retailers saw a YOY increase in volume that helped drive a winning performance in the marketplace at +5.4 percent. A new strategy was tested over this promotional period — a single piece rebate offering — in response to a significant share of duress purchases in the marketplace.

This strategy proved to be a valuable variable to driving better mix, with units almost flat and volume up as a result of higher average selling prices (ASPs) for members. Overall, single piece purchases made up 67 percent of total purchase behavior and redemptions by product category leaned toward laundry and refrigeration (at 30 percent and 28 percent of single piece purchases, respectively). Buyers opting for package purchases took advantage of up to $750 in rebates that also stacked with manufacturer rebates for a total savings of up to $3,750.

Compared to Big Box, NMG dealers were able to offer a better value on the same top brand products during the promotional period.

Nationwide’s exclusive, market-leading consumer financing rates further set NMG members apart from larger competitors, with Q1 offers like:

  • 12 months at 1.45 percent (compared to 1.49 percent)
  • 18 months at 3.69 percent (compared to 3.89 percent)

The OneShop Digital Advantage for Independent Retail

In addition to YOY volume wins during the Presidents’ Day holiday, Nationwide members leveraged NMG OneShop to increase online orders by almost 62 percent and online revenue by over 94 percent YOY.

It can be difficult to truly understand what it means to run an independent retail business unless you’ve actually been in the trenches and done the dirty work. Same could be said about working on the manufacturing side of the business, if we’re being fair. Adam Fain, who recently joined the NMG field team, has experience on both sides of the business and brings that unique perspective to the group and our members.
