Tips for Showing You’re a “Customer Obsessed” Retailer

There are so many ways to show your customers that they are your No.1 priority. Below are a number of examples that you, our Members, have shared in the past.

    • Created a customer appreciation day with games and food trucks.
    • Started a Girls Night Out event for the local ladies.
    • Build a partnership with a local university.
    • Host grilling competitions.
    • Wine-tasting events in the store.
    • Tailgate party with local high school football and drill teams that included a chili cook-off.
    • Partnered with chiropractors to refer their patients to our stores to be fitted for the right mattress. Patient gets a 5 percent discount, chiropractor gets 5 percent referral on the sale.
    • Donated upper-end mattresses to the local fire department.
    • Free in-and in-appointment Created a customer appreciation day with games and food trucks.
    • Tax holiday sale, no taxes on sales. Build a partnership with a local university.
    • Offer a 180-night trial period.
    • Next-day delivery, seven days a week.
    • Bring in a nonperishable item to receive 20 percent off anything in the store.
    • Launched a loyalty rewards program that gives 10 percent off purchases that’s given back on a gift card.
    • Support the local farmer’s market by hosting them in our parking lot.
    • 1 percent discount for every canned good a customer brings into the store, up to 25 percent.
    • In-store mattress and furniture fundraiser to benefit a local middle school, hosted on a Sunday when the store is normally closed.
    • Hosted a car show in the parking lot with food trucks.
