What do luxury appliances, luxury cars and pizza have in common?

No, it’s not a riddle or a trick question. The answer is the Monogram GX — a concept luxury vehicle that combines the off-roading adventure spirit of the all-new Lexus GX with Monogram’s high-end culinary collection.

And in case you’re still wondering about the pizza connection, the highlight of this car is a Monogram electric hearth oven, perfect for a slice on the go.

The Monogram Experience

Monogram is a name trusted by high-end designers and high-income homeowners alike. As GE Appliances’s luxury appliance brand — and NMG Vendor Partner — Monogram is committed to creating high quality products with innovation, design and overall experience at the forefront. And the GX concept car collaboration with Lexus is a prime example. The car’s built-in Monogram 30” Smart Flush Hearth Oven also boasts an industry-exclusive ventilation system that filters and cleans the air.

“This unique pairing of unexpected luxury cooking while away from home is created with signature pieces from Monogram that elevate the everyday,” Julie Burns, executive director of Monogram appliances, said in a press release announcing the collaboration. “The Monogram GX puts an entirely new spin on the road trip experience with a crafted, culinary journey.”

As seen at KBIS, seamless technology innovations are trending in the luxury design space for 2024 and beyond. The term “discrete luxury” — also the title of a KBIS LUXURY lounge panel — certainly describes the concept of a luxury pizza oven covertly placed behind the rear doors of a luxury off-road vehicle, yet ready to be “fired up” at any time, in any place.

The Monogram GX Debut

This unexpected — and not street legal — collaboration between Monogram and Lexus culminated with the vehicle’s big reveal at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, CO, June 14-16, 2024.

Event attendees got an up-close look at the concept car and its other features, including appliances inspired by the Monogram Designer Collection and creative direction from Monogram’s creative director and renowned interior designer, Richard T. Anuszkiewicz.

The full list of Monogram appliances custom-built into the Monogram GX includes:

  • Monogram 30” Smart Flush Hearth Oven — that recreates the experience of using a true, wood-fired oven
  • Monogram Forge Heated Ice Press — the first and only heated ice press in the USA, designed to produce ice spheres that keep beverages chilled to perfection
  • Chilling Compartments — a cold drawer and extra cold console compartment are ready to keep food fresh
  • Plating Station — the trunk houses a cutlery container and trash receptacle for easy serving and cleanup
  • Wine and Spirits Bar — the fully equipped bar includes a bar set, glassware, bitters, and a fold-up cutting board
  • Exterior Wine and Bourbon Storage — allows for convenient placement of wine or bourbon bottles and accessories, with pressure-fitted cutouts on the outer side panels
