WATCH: Customer Obsessed Minutes

One of the biggest benefits of being in a group with a few thousand of your Independent retail colleagues is that you get to hear some really awesome ideas that other business owners have implemented that have worked. This trove of knowledge and industry experience can provide you with endless tidbits and best practices that you can try in your own business. Of course, not every idea is going to work for every retailer, but sometimes just hearing someone talk about a different way of doing things is enough to get you to think outside of your own box.

That was exactly the message that Nationwide Marketing Group — and more specifically the Members of the group — delivered during our PrimeTime event in Dallas this past March. Whether it was in the breakout meetings, on the general session stage, during the Expo or in the hallways, discussions centered around the theme of “Customer Obsessed.” We explored the myriad ways Independent retailers put their customers at the center of the shopping experience.

Our Member panel during the general session provided nearly 45 minutes of nonstop best practice sharing courtesy of our phenomenal guests: Jesse Kostuhoski, Vice President of Sales, Boston FAM; Roddey Player, Owner, Queen City Audio Video & Appliances; Paul Sherman, CEO, Sherman’s; and Eric Thompson, Chief Cultural Officer, Snooze Mattress Company. We had our skilled team at PrimeMedia splice the film up into bite-sized excerpts for us. These quick segments are easy to digest and highlight some of the most impactful statements made during the session (which you can watch in full here). We’ve organized them into one playlist for ease of consumption as well! Dive into it all below — and be sure to continue the conversation this August in Nashville!
